Europe had no point except spreading Catholic faith.

The Catholic Church is in eclipse.

She is undergoing her passion.

She will be exalted, and the peoples of the world will be comforted. The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

He's not Pope. A usurper

https://novusordowatch.org/francis/

A non Catholic can't become Pope.

There is no march 2020 without October 1958.

Vast majority think I am crazy... self proclaimed critical thinkers.

One last thing. I go to a Mass Not in union with Francis.

People drive 8 hours a few times a year.

I have driven hours to fort w, Houston for mass not in union with Francis. I could go in town, to Latin mass, but it's in union with Francis... I reject

People who say they are Catholic and go to Mass in union with this man, aren't Catholic. Great sacrilege

Very analogous.

I think election was stolen. Even if it wasn't, Biden is a traitor, working for other side.

Francis is Vicar of satan, and I am being deadly serious.

I love Catholic Church, I love papacy

Having apple products is like learning French. Or Chinese. Being multilingual broadens us intellectually and gives us new perspectives. Sticking with one operating system (or one spoken language, or one computer language, or one social media site, etc) is easier, and everybody wants easy these days. But that homogeneity diminishes us.

I'm writing this on an android tablet. A few bugs, but mostly works well. I use several iPads and an iMac regularly. Quirky, but they work well. Their ease of use overcomes their odd interfaces. Several of my most important apps only work on windows, so that's my primary system for those. As the poet Rodney said, can't we all just get along?

Yep I theoretically should learn to use Apple. I probably can, but its just painful. Totally agree on the language thing. I speak 2 essentially bilingually and one more fairly decently. Trying to add a 4th.

Actually, Microsoft's work has *never been better*... and I mean that in the true Hollywood sense. Even going back to Windows 1.0 (we won't even talk about DOS), Microsoft has always been a low end, copycat organization out to do one thing and that is to cement itself into our lives by monopoly... it's user experience is shit. Even today, updates usually require a restart and interrupt your work... It is a rat's nest of crapware.

At Apple, they have always had an emphasis on the aesthetic and the user experience. MacOS Darwin or whatever they call it is based on a very solid Unix-like operating system foundation which is more secure and efficient that Windows will ever be... The amazing thing to me over the years that that often when Apple would release a new update for its cellphone OS, it would SPEED THE PHONE UP (on the same hardware). Exactly the opposite of EVERY update Microsoft has ever rolled out.

That all being said, I am a Linux devotee... (Unix-derived or emulated, MacOS cousin)... Windows Vista did that for me. My grand plan is to buy a Mac for myself once my working years no longer require a Windows shitbox. My kids will grow up using Macs in college. More expensive, but so many young college grads tell me they "got a Mac for high school graduation" and still use it today. Your life should not revolve around servicing your machines, they should serve you.

Can't say that about most Windows boxes.

Yeah I agree there are probably many many things wrong with Windows and well, disecting Bill Gates life is probably about as murky as Epstein´s.

I had a Windows phone but generally have had Samsung´s and the user interface of the Samsung´s has been incredible, pick it up and go. When I borrowed my friends Apple Phone I was trying to get back to the last screen and I was "Dude, where´s the back button in this thing?" , "The what" ?? the absolute most used button of all on the android ( at least Samsung version ) and the iPhone didn´t have it. You always had to look for it on whatever app it was.. But hey they look cute.

The macbook pro turned into our websurfing computer, as it was just too frustrating to use as a work machine for us.

I recently bought, as in a few days ago, a Fold 3 phone. The camera is good but apparently not as good as the S21 plus but the screens are absolutely incredible. I cannot imagine life without it. I think they foldy phones are going to be the thing of the future. The flip 3 phone has also got an amazing screen as well and can easily fit into your pocket.

The best would be that there are several companies competing to our "hardware" each other and all software for home devices ends up being run off open source. Like telegram. it is literally 100times better than whatsapp.

But as you wrote about your iPhone speeding up??? I thought this was 100% the opposite. Tim Cook came out and said a few years ago that the new software actually does what everyone was complaining about and makes older phones run slower.

Yes! I originally owned an iPhone up to about the iPhone 4, and yes during that timeframe, the software was rapidly outpacing the hardware's capabilities over time, but on *occasion*... not every time, an iOS update would really improve the performance... one thing that made the news was the fact that Apple rigged the phones to slow down to reduce demand on the batteries at one point to compensate for the batteries losing capacity over time...

I abandoned the iPhone for the cheaper Androids about 10 years ago and was a big fan of Google in the "Don't be evil" days and Android (also Linux/Unix derived) for about 10 years.

The distortion of communication and concerns about privacy drove me back to the Apple platform after the 2020 election... if a company can make a phone that the FBI can't break into, that's what I want... Apple has also walked the talk with attention to privacy controls and restricting apps abilities to track you. Sold my Google stock after 20 years and sadly watched it continue to rise in the past year.

Took me a little while to adapt to the iPhone user interface, but I was never thrilled with the base "app launcher" on the Androids... I did appreciate the ability to use custom app launchers... there was one I liked called Niagra.

We used to use Macs for photographic work in the early days, as they were easier to configure for chained Scsi devices and were recommended by "graphics professionals".

Once we had discovered what piles of overpriced dog shit they were, we all switched to PC's and never returned to Apple.

The exact same hardware for a Mac and PC was several times the price for a Mac and they had it locked down so that an Nvidia Geforce card, or Seagate HDD could only be changed for the official Mac model and not the same spec model and brand off the shelf.

Maybe things have changed, but I now use WIntel hardware and Linux OS, to get it behaving as I want.

That said, the last good WIndows OS was IMHO, XP.

Everything since has been subpar and Fubar for no good reason.

I loved the apple monitor that was released a few years ago for something like 3000 Euro in Germany, and the plastic ( maybe metal ) stand that you literally needed or you had to somehow hang the damned thing on the wall was about 990 Euro.

I paid 1600 Euro for my Samsung fold 3 phone last week, no cheap feat but this tech is so amazing that I am happy to pay more for essentially a tablet that i can fold up in my pocket.

I can´t wait for the massive press conference in 5 years where Tim Cook comes out and announces the amazing new invention of the foldy phone and all the fan bois happily pay 2500 Euros for it when the Samsung ones are probably then less than a grand.. Oh well that´s capitalism. No one is pointing a gun to the Apple owners heads.

I just loved on day driving through the hip neighborhood in a large German city outside a block where "refugee welcome" "fuck capitalism" etc was spray painted all over the facade and there was a table out front with 6 people looking like Hispters were all sitting ( was a weekend morning ). Every single one of them had a Macbook in front of them. The irony was so intense I would have taken a photo of them, but thats against the law in Germany

It does seem to make you angry. I think I can see that what is bothering you is the influence of big business on your life and those about you. That is very common.

Cube Cubis's avatar

Well big business doesn´t really bother me, I don´t work for any big company so buy things from them, I can pick and choose. If these idiots want to ruin once amazing places, then better ones will spring up. But the speed at which this wokeness has not only destroyed physical places but also ruined many minds is just astounding. It is a mix of angry and "get the popcorn". It is kind of like a character in a movie that really grates on you. You keep watching to hope something bad happens to him.

Yeah, hope springs eternal. One way is to support small businesses and use cash...if you can. Probably easier in England than in the US but we tend to follow you in everything you do. Most powerful, rich people are in the US I guess. Maybe if the dollar is no more things will even out and no one country will be that powerful.

Well I live in Germany and a lot of shops refuse to accept cards. It is that bad here that it actually gets annoying trying to find an ATM that doesnt charge you like 8 Euro for not being their customer.

Doesn't accept cards? I am sure that will change soon.

'The disappearance of cash will more easily facilitate the introduction of CBDC. Therefore, if freedom is important to us, we must not let cash disappear. In fact, we need to make cash indispensable to businesses across the world.

Using ACT, whenever we make a purchase or transaction we must ask ourselves if our behaviour moves us towards or away from freedom. While it is not always possible to use cash but, wherever and whenever it is, if we want to move towards freedom, we must use cash. If a store refuses to accept cash then don’t frequent it, choose one that does. Doing so will move us towards freedom'.
