One of the main things that keep the flock together is their consensus on almost everything. The majority rules and this becomes a subconscious mantra of sorts.
I remember having to deal with a complete authoritarian type in a pub once, not long ago. He was a Brit and some how the topic of conversation got around to sports. He was adamant that Football is the best sport in the world. I said that it is definitely the most accessible major sport, but the best, I beg to differ. He said well it´s the most popular sport in the world, so it must be the best.
I thought about talking about how people find it boring, or how they do not like the aspect of all the “diving” in the game etc, but I thought I had to just attack his belief system.
“So Chicken Tikka Masala is the best dish in the UK then” ( it is the most ordered take away in the UK) , “followed by fish and chips”. “Was Kylie and Jason getting married on home and away one of the greatest all time tv events?? 20 million Brits tuned into it in 1988”… Are Seinfeld and Freinds the greatest tv series in history? They must be, they´re the most watched.
Cosidering I didn´t like this guy, this literally made fart noises come out of his ears and he went on to just dish out personal insults. What you need to now do in this situation is wish them well and never ever talk to them ever again.
