What happens if we all pretend we´re not using AI?
Hint: Control C ----- Control V
So in my old job in “big industry” reports for every customer interaction were needed. I always hated doing them so literally would fill out the time, customer, and a few dot points. Some people would write behemoths of things. Spouting out insane levels of fluff that no one in their right mind would read, but these “busy bodies” would parade their reports around as a badge of honour. In my new role I have outlawed reports. I don´t want to see them. I want to have a 15min chat about what happened and what needs to be done.
I dread these reports now in the age of AI. I can imagine these busy bodies now writing down the dot points of their meeting into AI and asking it to create a 3000 word essay to explain how they had a cup of coffee, ate some donuts and talked about how the customer doesn´t need our services or products. Since no one wants to read these insane reports, the manager will just upload it into AI and ask it to spit out the dot points of it.
If we all pretend we are not doing this the amount of paperwork an busy work is going to increase exponentially. And people will spend minutes writing these long winded reports then spend the rest of the day doom scrolling.
What I suggest people in “big corporate” do is sit down have a meeting to discuss the fact that AI is here and everyone is using it to make them selves look busy and go back to dot point reports. This will free up much more time to either do some productive work, or have brainstorming time etc. Or just fire everyone :

I might even get AI to write my next substack.
